The birth of a monkey

It was probably one of those Saturday afternoons, when Ryan and I used to try to solve the problems of the world with not much success. It was under the Chilean rain, navigating down south, were everything started. We wanted to integrate college students from all over the world and have a place for them to discuss issues that affect their lives. The idea did not sound that hard, but we were still in college and it was a project that was maybe going to take a few years.
Corporate world different from reservation

I walk to the “bus barn” and hear the snow crunch beneath my feet. As the cold crisp South Dakota air touches my face, I feel alive and ready to begin the day. After fifteen minutes of warming up the school bus, I embark on my route, which will bring 65 children to school in one of the most remotely isolated places in the country, the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. As I make my way across the reservation, the rising sun glistens off the morning frost that blankets these beautiful hills, and once again, I’m reminded that I’m privileged to be here.

Feminism. Oh, the difference a word can make! The word feminism is fraught with negative implications, obscured by layers of stereotypes. Many people hesitate to call themselves feminists for fear of others’ scorn and derision.

You?re excited when the night finally arrives, taking care to make yourself look as fashionable as possible and making sure you get into the venue early enough to snag a spot front and center. It seems as though this concert couldn't get better; you?re about to see two great bands, both of which will be mere feet from where you stand.

Spain: Integration and Isolation
One of the Spanish governments biggest concerns is that people in Spain lack interest in their membership in the European Union. The euro was adopted in Spain last January and will be fully adopted at the end of February, and it seems to be one of the only signs and reminders that Spain belongs to the EU. Another important and often ignored fact is that the current president of the EU is Spanish - President Aznar acts as the head of the European government.

I like to drink beer. I like the smell, taste, and texture of it; I like to go to bars and restaurants that serve it; and I like to be with friends when I drink it. I like to get a small buzz going sometimes. I am happy to say that this is the way I feel about beer, because I’m responsible when I drink it. I never get behind the wheel after drinking, I never drink alone, I drink in moderation, and there have been few instances in my life in which I have been drunk to the point of losing complete control of myself.
